OneCause Culture Committee
OVERVIEW
I joined the OneCause culture committee in March of 2023 and became a member of the core culture committee in June of the same year.
The culture committee met regularly to plan initiatives to increase employee engagement like collaborative cookbooks, Slack challenges, or a travel guide. I created graphics, sent out Slack posts, monitored Google Form submissions, and collaborated on multiple projects, but showcased below is my favorite - the Indianapolis Travel Guide.

The Project is Taking Flight
The idea for the guide stemmed from brainstorming ways to engage remote employees who live all across the country. I had seen The Scout Guide while scrolling through Instagram one day and thought we could transfer that idea to OneCause - have employees submit must-see places in their areas to act as travel guides if other employees visit. We decided to make an example guide for Indianapolis, OneCause's home base, and debut it during our all-company meeting in May 2024. I had two main successes through this project:
🎨 Designed the guide using Canva. I adhered to OneCause branding and guidelines while designing the guide, and took a minimalist approach with the design to let the recommendations shine. I added sections at the beginning of each area of Indy that highlighted the most heavily recommended spots. I also organized the recommendations by restaurant or things to do, and also the price range.
💻 Engaged local employees through Slack. I posted an initial message asking Indy-based employees for their recommendations and received over 40 responses. I used those plus additional research done by committee members to form the recommendation lists featured in the guide.
